IIT JAM Coaching in Chandigarh

This test is conducted twice a year at all India level for admission in various Ph.D. programmes in PGIMER, CHANDIGARH.

Candidates who have their own fellowship, as Joint CSIR-UGC-NET- JRF, ICMR-JRF/ICMR-SRF/DBT-JRF/DBT-SRF/Graduate aptitude test (GATE)/INSPIRE fellowship/UGC-JRF/UGC-SRF/CSIR-JRF/CSIR-SRF/DST-JRF/DST-SRF and the In-service Medical faculty of PGIMER, Chandigarh, are exempted from entrance test and appear in counseling directly.

PGIMER also provides institutional fellowship to 6-7 students per session based on this entrance test. The candidates will be eligible for the award of PGI fellowship on the merit position obtained by them in the final selection of the Ph.D. program. Rs. 25000/- P.M. (fixed) and additional thesis grant of Rs. 5000/- (one time) is provided as fellowship.

    SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

    There are 2 parts in the test.

    1st part, the aptitude test comprises (a) General Science (b) English, (c) Biostatistics & Research Methodology consists of 30 marks. All questions in this part are compulsory with each question carrying one mark.

    2nd part is Stream Specific (Medical, Non-Medical (Life Science and behavioral Sciences), theory part of the question paper will contain 75 questions and the candidates may attempt any 50 questions. Each question carries one mark. There will be negative marking to the extent of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the theory paper.
